Potters Bar Tutorials was founded by Sarah Hodgson-Jones to specifically prepare primary school children for selective entry senior schools at 11+. It offers a dedicated tutoring service designed to prepare children for both Y6 SATS and entrance examinations. It is targeted at pupils who are aiming to enter a selective entry senior school in Y7 (i.e. at 11+).
Potters Bar Tutorials offers individual weekly tuition in Maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning leading up to specific exams in which pupils have the opportunity to learn various techniques to improve their performance in examinations. Pupils also have the chance to sit past papers so that they become familiar with the content. We firmly believe that “practice makes perfect”
Potters Bar Tutorials has a proven track record, having successfully prepared numerous children for entrance exams to schools in both Independent and Maintained sectors in Central London , Hertfordshire and Barnet. It regularly prepares students for the following schools: Dame Alice Owen's, QE Boys, Latymer, Habs Boys, Habs Girls, St. Albans Boys, St. Albans Girls High, North London Collegiate, City of London Boys, City of London Girls, Highgate, Queenswood, Haileybury and St. Columba's.
Potters Bar Tutorials offers revision courses throughout the summer holidays in preparation for the DAO exam in September. It also offers courses during the autumn term in preparation for the QE Boys and Latymer exams. Tuition takes place at 32 Mount Grace Road, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire.
The fee for private tuition is from £35 per hour.
Mrs Hodgson-Jones is a fully qualified and experienced Primary School teacher with full GTC and CRB registration. She has twenty years of teaching experience, having taught in both preparatory and primary schools in London and Hertfordshire, as well as providing personal tuition.
